So It's Been 74 Days Since My Last Blog. I'm Bad

What have I been doing?  Everything!

Both or our fridges are still running.  We were hoping that at least one would die a final death so that we could get a new one for the house.  But no such luck.

The BABE Show in November was good.  We always like to see familiar faces, meet new beaders and visit with the husbands who follow the wives around while they shop.  We have started to carry beads and we showed some of them at the show.

Our dog, Rissa, who was in the pictures before pasted away.  We had her for over 12 years and she was a good dog and well loved.

We missed having a dog in the house and just before Thanksgiving we found a rescue dog from Southern California.  She is a boxer/ridgeback puppy!  So very cute and what a smarty.  I'm sure I'll talk about her in the future.  We were lucky to find Rissa when we did and now we have Sadie and are lucky to get such a good girl.

Then Thanksgiving.  We always have the family over for dinner.  I have2 brothers and a sister.  All younger. My sister lives in Montana soshe wasn't there and then one brother with his family went to Tahoe so it was just us four, my parents, one brother, his wife and her mother. A small gathering for us.  I ate too much but everything is go good!

Jim and I were married December 17th.  This year is number 26.  We were married in Montana on one of the coldest days in history. Actually it was -8 degrees plus wind chill for that day and our wedding day in 1983 still holds the record.  It was so cold that when my parents drove their car home from the church (about 2 miles) that the soda left over from the reception froze by the time they reached home!

Then came Christmas.  Way to early this year.  Everyone tells me it came early.  We always have the family over Christmas Eve where we have appetizers and dessert and open gifts from each other.  Then Christmas Day, all are back for brunch, stockings and dinner.

Now you think stockings?  How many little kids are there.  One in First Grade. My kids are now 17 and 15. and then there are the adults. Now these are just those little, ordinary stockings.  These are special.  Everyone has one and they all get filled. They were made by my Grandmother and are about two feet long and 8 inches wide and they stretch.  They hold a ton of stuff and what doesn't fit ends up on the chairs where we sat the evening before.  As we draw family names for Christmas Eve, everyone plays Santa and they go crazy.  Now the stuffers aren't expensive they are usually useful items like band aides, pens, pretty soaps, nail polish and then there is the found objects and the funky things.  I like old office supplies, so someone gave me an antique stapler and a paper punch. I also received a big rubber band.  Usually everyone gets a small bag of their favorite candy.  My dad likes licorice black cats, one of my brothers likes Lemonheads.  Sometimes a really wierd stuffer will be regifted  between people for a number of years.

Okay then after Christmas, I got the nasty cold that has been going around.  I am just now feeling better. And my sexy voice is returning to normal.

So now we are caught up.  My family goes through the day thinking that not really much happens in our lives.  But actually lots of things happen.  Not only the everyday but wierd stuff too.  So I'll try to keep up with the everyday, the wierd and the silly.  Thanks for listening.
