We are at the Maui Cottage
The girls and I have been here at the Maui cottage since early June. We come every year for the summer since they have been little. I have been remise to tell you about our place and I will yet, but I want to talk about the Makawao 4th of July parade that we go to every year. Makawao is a small town upcountry. It is an old paniolo (cowboy) town. We love it! Unlike the parades in San Francisco where you stand up the whole time and can't see because of people standing in front of you and being rude, this parade is fun. When take our lawn chairs and setup right on the street. No one is in front or in back of you. Very casual. We go up the street to get our donuts and coffee and watch people go by until the parade starts. You have to get the donuts early as they always sell out by parade time 9:00 am. Always it starts with the old cars, then the motorcycles. No parade is complete without a Texas Longhorn.

The Budweiser Trucks. I love these! Budweiser sponsors the Rodeo. Usually the names of the drivers are written in script on the doors of their truck. The drivers seem to know everyone!

Then there are the horses all deck out in flowers. This rider won a prize for the theme of the parade. And of course you have to have Miss. Maui. We didn't get a picture of the rodeo queen this year.

After the parade we hit the bazaar at a church.
They always have fun stuff there. I got three medical mortar and pestles to add to my medical supply collection.
This is a picture inside my office. I picked up the medical bottles behind at another garage sale here.
Thanks for listening.
